Carrick-on-Suir Municipal District's Tidy Towns awards to return later this year

An awards night for Tidy Towns groups in Carrick-on-Suir Municipal District will be hosted later this year. 

Marie O’Gorman, District Administrator, confirmed to Cllr Mark Fitzgerald an awards ceremony can be organised to honour Tidy Town groups whose communities increased their marks in the national  Tidy Towns contest.  

Cllr Fitzgerald had pointed out the awards didn’t take place last year. 

Ms O’Gorman responded that while there wasn’t an awards night in 2022  more funding was allocated to  Tidy Towns groups in communities with  increased marks in the national contest.
