When Next We Meet announces blistering weekend line-up for Clonmel

The When Next We Meet magic comes to Clonmel again this July

Where will you be on the weekend of July 22nd and 23rd? When Next We Meet in partnership with host venue Raheen House Hotel are bringing another great weekend of music, food & DJ’s to Clonmel with a blistering line-up of music artists.

Lisa Hannigan, Talos, Daithí, and Niamh Regan have just been announced along with Tipperary’s Kyoto Love Hotel and Smythy opening on the Walled Garden Stage.

From entrancing folk to magnetic electronica, the magical grounds of Raheen House Hotel are set to come alive once again this July. A second Local Artists Stage will give an important platform to emerging local artists and DJ’s, but that’s not all.

This is more than a gig in a garden. Food vendors, bars, lighting, seating, and outdoor amenities create an unexpected festival in the hotel’s grounds. In a stunning venue, the hidden walled garden makes for a unique and intimate performance space. The flowing nature of the surrounding gardens lends itself to an incredible atmosphere over two nights. Artists and audiences mingle casually, chatting over flowing pints against the backdrop of barbeque filled air and the unmistakable electricity of live music on a summer’s night.

“The location is everything. Raheen House’s grounds have proven to be pure magic. It’s an oasis away from the outside world, while being practically in the town centre. Everyone that steps through the gates are taken aback by how expansive the grounds behind the house are. We bring in staging, lighting, food vendors, bars, benches, posh portaloos… everything you can expect from a festival, with an added touch. The audience are great. Music sounds amazing in the walled garden and the surrounding areas are the perfect setting for everything else! It’s just a brilliant atmosphere amongst brilliant people!” Kate Twohig, organiser.

Local artists are given a great platform to perform and to network with the headlining acts. Last year, local emerging talent including Eve Whelan and Vale went on to further play with the headlining artists at events such as the Galway International Arts Festival, Whelan’s in Dublin and more. “Over the course of the weekend I made some wonderful friends and contacts as a result of meeting at the festival. I was invited to perform later in the year at an event organised by one of the headlining acts. I am so grateful to When Next We Meet for putting me in the path of these amazing opportunities.” Eve Whelan - Local Emerging Artist

“To be part of When Next we meet was extremely inspiring and encouraging, as a young musician trying to find my way, it was everything I needed.” Ross Boland - Local Emerging Artist & Festival Volunteer. The organisers are keen to give opportunities to locals who are actively creating and performing music, and encourage them to get in touch. For a chance to see these artists and more, make sure to head to Gleeson’s Pub, Clonmel for the official launch party of When Next We Meet on Friday 12th May.

RATS (Random Artists of Tipperary South) will also be exhibiting the incredible work of local artists across the weekend – ‘or not’!

It is building up to be an exciting weekend for the ever growing When Next We Meet audience. Whether it’s music, the outdoor food and drink or simply a great night out you’re after, this an event of great quality to be experienced on our own doorstep.
