Preparations are being made to host the When Next We Meet music festival in Clonmel at Raheen House Hotel
With When Next We Meet fast approaching, The Nationalist will be doing a weekly run down on what you can expect from this exciting local boutique music festival.
This is more than just an outdoor summer gig. When Next We Meet is all of the charm of a music festival without the lengthy travel to hard to reach sites, without the queues, without the camping and mud.
This boutique music festival is the ultimate immersive experience for music fans, locals, food and festival lovers alike, where you will feel part of an intimate celebration, hidden away from the outside world.
The festival line-up is designed to have an all-out electronic music party on Saturday July 22, while a more gentle and mesmerising folk music line-up will soothe audiences on Sunday July 23.
This year features heavy weights of the Irish music scene with Saturday July 22 bringing festival electronic favourites to Clonmel, including Daithí, Talos and a surprise After Party guest DJ.
Daithí is electronic music producer and fiddle player known for his electrifying live shows.
The two time Choice Award nominee is a mainstay in the Irish gigging scene. His live show is an improvised performance, creating on the spot dance music using synths and live fiddle. His most streamed track “Mary Keane’s Introduction” captured the imagination of millions of Irish people across the world, and became one of the most successful Irish singles of 2016. You’ll be on your feet dancing from the start.
Talos is Cork-based artist Eoin French, who is known for his immersive electronica and falsetto vocal.
His earlier sparse, dub-like electronica tracks earned the producer comparisons to artists such as James Blake, Bon Iver, and James Vincent McMorrow.
The artist has honed his sound to be instantly recognisable as his own and is bringing a very special full-live band show to Clonmel this July 22.
Tipperary electronic duo Kyoto Love Hotel will open the festival’s main stage on what is set to be an all-out wall to wall night of uplifting and inspiring electronic music.
Intent on promoting local original artists, a local acoustic artists’ stage will play host to an array of Clonmel’s finest songwriters and DJ’s over the night, giving the locality a much needed platform for original musicians.
When the music ends at 11pm, limited After Party ticket holders will be treated to an exciting surprise on DJ duties.
Follow the festival on social media platforms to find out who. After Party passes are available to ticket holders on a first come first served basis through the festival website, so act fast!
Every consideration is made when it comes to hosting this epic summer party, with food vendors, an outdoor Heineken bar, seating and festoon lighting and the fanciest portaloos you will have ever seen all set up to meet your needs and create an incredibly special atmosphere.
This is a spectacular weekend long music event not to be missed, which last summer had locals reporting the best night out in Clonmel in a long time. Be there when the gates open from 4pm on Saturday July 22 to experience first hand a unique experience on your doorstep.
