The Tipperary Volunteer Centre set up shop in Main Street, Carrick-on-Suir for the week July 3 to July 7 to facilitate potential volunteers with information to help out with their community groups.
The Centre is a free countywide volunteer placement and referral service with offices in Cashel, Roscrea and Nenagh.
Local people were invited to call in for tea and a friendly chat about volunteering with Volunteering Support Officer from the Tipperary Volunteer Centre, Tina Reilly.
It was a busy week as those interested in volunteering and community groups wishing to source suitable volunteers had the opportunity to seek advice on policies and procedures and a guide to volunteer placement and referral services in the county.
A coffee morning was held on the Friday, which was well attended. Tina Reilly, Volunteering Support Officer for South Tipperary, thanked everyone who called in over the week and thanked Ber and Milo Glascott for the use of their premises.
Tina advised that the service was available all year round in Carrick-on-Suir, she can be contacted at Tel: 086 041 8019 or at tina@volunteertipperary.ie.
