Mayor of Clonmel Cllr Richie Molloy described the death of four young people in an horrific single vehicle accident in his hometown yesterday evening (Friday) as one of the worst tragedies to ever befall the town.
The Independent councillor extended his deepest condolences to the crash victims' grieving families
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the families who have suffered a parent’s worst nightmare. It's one of the worst tragedies that has ever befallen our town.
“A night that should have been full of fun and excitement has turned into something beyond words, and as a parent myself, it's always a constant worry when our youngsters go out at night and you are waiting for the key in the door to turn before you can sleep yourself.”
“May all their souls rest in peace.”
A young man, aged in his early 20s, and three women aged in their late teens died in the single vehicle accident that happened on the Mountain Road in Clonmel shortly after 7.30pm yesterday (Friday).
