Tipperary Volunteer Centre launches appeal for people to drop into its pop-up centre
The Tipperary Volunteer Centre will operate from the old Echo IT premises at 29/30 Mitchell Street, Nenagh, from Monday, September 25, to Friday, September 29.
Derek Fanning of the Tipperary Volunteer Centre commented: “We see first-hand the impact community groups make across the wider Nenagh area. Opening this week-long Pop-Up Volunteer Centre is our way of recognising and supporting those organisations.”
So, whether you currently volunteer, would like to volunteer or are involved with an organisation that involves volunteers, why not drop in and have a chat?
Sara McDonnell, Volunteering Development Officer, said: “Volunteering is a great way to get out of your comfort zone, make friends, and develop new skills while positively impacting your local community. The Tipperary Volunteer Centre has strong linkages with Nenagh, having overseen the volunteer programme at the Vaccination Centre recently, and we would love to reacquaint ourselves with all who volunteered there at that time.”
On September 29, we are extending an invite to our free coffee morning between 11 am and 1 pm. Our friends at ALONE will be in attendance to advertise their services and the opportunities to volunteer on some of the programmes they run.
We would encourage anyone thinking of taking that step to start volunteering to call in for an informal chat.
For those who currently volunteer or are involved in running volunteer groups, please drop by.
