The 17th century house and lake at Barne Estate, a few miles from Clonmel on the Cahir road
Barne Estate, a 751-acre tillage farm near Clonmel on the Cahir road, has been sold.
Reports have suggested that the estate, which includes a 17th century house overlooking a lake, has been purchased by Coolmore Stud.
The estate had a guide price of €13.5 million, although it’s understood to have been sold for more than that amount.
The estate had been owned by the Moore family since the 1800s and was run as a tillage farm.
The chateau-style house covers an area of 16,000 square feet and is set in parkland overlooking a feature lake.
The property also includes courtyards with traditional-style buildings, as well as a workshop, machinery shed and a former grain drying shed.
