 Hand grenade found in west Tipperary. Road reopened to traffic

The scene at the Sologhead monument this morning.

A road near Sologhead Cross in west Tipperary that was closed earlier today (Friday) when a hand grenade was found during has now been reopened to traffic.


The grenade, perhaps from the War of Independence period, was found near the Sologhead monument while the County Council were doing repairs work on the road.


The Gardai had the area cordoned off for the safety of the public.

The road in question is off the main Tipperary to Limerick road and that traffic flow was unaffected by this morning's development.
