New town bus service in Tipperary expected to begin next month

The service will be operated by TFI (Transport for Ireland) Local Link Tipperary

The new town bus service in Clonmel will be up and running in early December, according to Cllr Siobhán Ambrose.

The bus will operate seven days a week, from 6am to midnight.

The service will be operated by TFI (Transport for Ireland) Local Link Tipperary.

The routes and timetables are expected to be announced soon.

“The town bus service really is a lifeline for a lot of people, particularly those who don’t drive, the elderly and those living alone,” says Cllr Ambrose.

“The new extended service presents an opportunity for people to leave their cars at home and avail of the town bus”.

She says that all the buses will be wheelchair accessible and this initial service will cover Clonmel town only.

The NTA (National Transport Authority) are understood to be looking at a separate service to cater for the Marlfield area, which was covered by the previous service.
