It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas in this Tipperary town

The Christmas lights in Clonmel are being installed before being switched on at a later date

Brightspark Electrical are starting to instal the Christmas lights in Clonmel this evening, Monday.

The company says it made the decision to carry out the installation at night for health and safety reasons and for less disruption to the public.

"We will be using a machine with an engine but will keep the noise as low as possible. We are doing the night shift for four nights up until Thursday night. In advance we want to sincerely apologise to anyone we may disturb.

"Please be mindful of our installers while driving around the town and comply with the directions provided by signage or our traffic management personnel.

"Thanks for your patience and please have a very happy and safe Christmas".
