Phone connection issue delaying opening of new county Tipperary fire station is resolved

Phone connection delay holds up opening of new county Tipperary fire station

An issue with installing a telephone connection that has delayed the opening of Cashel's new €3.1m fire station has been resolved.

Tipperary Fire Service's Chief Fire Officer Eddie Ryan told The Nationalist today (Wednesday, December 20) that eir installed a phone connection for the new fire station at Waller's Lot this week.

Tipperary County Council’s December meeting heard on Monday, December 11 that while the new fire station at Waller’s Lot was complete, efforts to get a telephone connection to the station had proved unsuccessful despite regular contact between Tipperary Fire Service and eir about the issue.

When questioned about the delay by Cllr Roger Kennedy at the meeting, Mr Ryan said Tipperary Fire Service applied for the eir connection quite a while ago but unfortunately eir hadn’t managed to connect the station despite visiting the site three times.

The three-bay fire station at Waller’s Lot is replacing Cashel’s existing fire station at Ladyswell Street.
