Waterford Student Robert Mc Sweeney Wins SciFest 2024: Heading Towards National Finals
Rockwell College proudly congratulates Robert McSweeney (TY) from Waterford for winning SciFest 2024 at the TUS Thurles campus.
Competing against 62 entrants from Tipperary schools, Robert's research on "A Statistical Analysis of fatalities on Irish roads compared to Norwegian Roads from 1996 to 2023" secured him first place.
With guidance from his teacher, Ms. Murray, Robert's effort led to a well-deserved victory. His success qualifies him for the National Finals in October, with potential advancement to the World Finals in LA.
Robert's research on road fatalities and safety in Ireland is timely and significant, offering valuable insights with practical implications. This win also marks Rockwell College's second consecutive triumph at SciFest, following Chen HongYu's victory in 2023, underscoring its commitment to academic excellence.
Rockwell College commends Robert for tackling such a critical issue and extends sincere congratulations to him. We wish him continued success in his academic pursuits and in the national finals in October.
