Barnardos Clonmel has officially opened its new therapeutic space and garden room, allowing for expanded therapeutic programmes and services for families in the south Tipperary area.

Joanne O’Gorman, Project Leader with Barnardos said “This new space will enable Barnardos Clonmel to work with more families and children in the community, providing a comfortable and supportive environment for those who need it.

“Through the support of generous local fundraisers, students from Presentation Secondary School, the local Lions Club and local fundraisers Emer Shelly, Bronagh Higgins and Nuala Kavanagh, Barnardos Clonmel fully furnished the room and purchased the necessary resources to enhance services.

“Because childhood lasts a lifetime”.

Last year alone, Barnardos worked with over 250 individuals comprising children, young people and their parents/carers in south Tipperary.

The addition of the new therapeutic space means that even more families will have access to the support and resources they need to thrive.

The official opening was supported by many local organisations and the ribbon-cutting ceremony was performed by two local children, Joey Hewitt and Alicia Heaphey, symbolising the importance of this new space in the lives of the children who will benefit from it.
