Revealed: Here are the 40 councillors elected to the new-look Tipperary County Council

The election has been and gone, and after a hard-fought and competitive campaign process, 40 councillors have been selected by the people of Tipperary to represent them in their respective municipal districts.

There was not a huge amount of change from the 2019 election, with Fine Gael losing two seats and Fianna Fáil gaining one.

The Labour party won an additional two seats on the council compared to 2019, with Fiona Bonfield retaining her seat, along with Michael 'Chicken' Brennan and Louise Morgan Walsh being elected.

Twelve women were elected on this election, an increase of four compared to the eight elected in 2019.

A new favourite emerged in Cashel-Tipperary following the departure of Michael Fitzgerald, with John O'Heney topping the polls, one of the four independent candidates to do so.

Along with Fitzgerald, Ger Darcy, Hughie McGrath, John 'Rocky' McGrath, Noel Coonan, and Seamus Hanafin all decided not to seek re-election.
