Tipperary dog rescue volunteers The Haven have made an urgent appeal for locals to adopt the elderly dog Sassy, as she has just left a temporary foster home.
The Haven said in a post on social media that 'Little Sassy' was originally found by the Tipperary volunteers at the Dublin County Dog Shelter.
"While we were walking the kennels wondering who we could take that day, and who we could potentially book for our next pull we came across this little Chihuahua cross who was sitting oh so bewildered in the back of her kennel," The post read.
"She came out to the gate to meet us, and the girls told us her little story that she had been picked up as a stray, and despite several attempts to contact her owners, they didn't answer the messages or the phone."

Despite being abandoned by her previous owners, Sassy was cared for by the Haven, who now seek to give the Chihuahua her final forever home.
According to her chip, Sassy is a 10/11 year old Chichuhua, though some vets think she might be younger. The dog does not have the best sight anymore, and may snap if you come at her quickly or from behind when she doesn't see you.
According to the Haven, she has been "amazing" in temporary foster, and has not snapped once.
Other than her slightly affected eyesight, Sassy is a healthy Chihuahua, and is now spayed, fully vaccinated, and microchipped.
The Haven described Sassy as "the sweetest little dog" who loves rubs and little slow walks. She is fine living with other dogs, cats and chickens, and is best suited for house living with access to a garden.
Sassy may not be suited for homes with children due to her eyesight, and will need an owner with an understanding of her and her little quirks, as she is easy to care for but will still require management.
If you'd like to offer Sweet Sassy her own forever home, you can message The Haven on Facebook.
