A special evening was celebrated in St Oliver Plunkett National School in Clonmel last month.

On this evening parents, staff and special guests attended the Sixth Class Graduation service, along with the presentation of two prestigious Bursary awards.

In celebration of St Oliver’s 40th Anniversary last year, the Board of Management of the school were delighted to present two of their Sixth Class pupils with the Seán Nyhan Bursary award. Due to its success, it was agreed to continue with this bursary award again this year.

The school was very fortunate, under their College4kids programme, that the TUS access fund provided sponsorship for one bursary.

During their final term in school, the Sixth Class children got the opportunity to attend the TUS Campus in Clonmel and Thurles and gained much insight into the exciting courses on offer in both.

The school was delighted to welcome Stacey Getlevog and Linda Barry from the TUS Campus to this celebration.
In attendance also were many staff, past and present; the Chairperson of the Board of Management, John Condon and Fr Nicholas, Parish Priest.

Each worthy entrant received a medal for their wonderful entry, under the theme of Hopes and Dreams.

The two bursary trophies and €500 cheques were presented to Brianna Looby and Hannah Crotty, as overall winners.
Many thanks are extended to Seán Nyhan’s daughter, Emer Power, for sponsoring the medals and trophies that were presented.

Well done to all involved on this wonderful night of celebrations.

Best wishes are extended to each and every Sixth Class pupil, as they set out on the next step of their educational journey.
