Clonmel is set to welcome home Olympic hero Daire Lynch

The Homecoming for Daire Lynch will be held at 6pm on Wednesday August 14. His rowing partner Philip Lynch will also attend

Olympic hero Daire Lynch will be given a rapturous homecoming to Clonmel on Wednesday.

 After participating in the homecoming for all the Irish Olympians in Dublin on Monday, Daire will arrive in his hometown of Clonmel for a homecoming on the Kickham Plaza.    

Daire, who will be accompanied by his family and by his rowing partner Philip Doyle, will be paraded through the town in a vintage car before arriving at the Kickham Plaza for 6pm.

He will be guided into the Plaza by proud members of Clonmel Rowing Club.

MC for the occasion will be Tom Fennessy. The event will be addressed by bronze medal winner Daire Lynch, the Mayor of Clonmel Cllr Michael Murphy and Dermot Dougan, President of Clonmel Rowing Club. 

Banna Chluain Meala will provide the musical entertainment for the historic occasion.
