No let-up for tenants as Tipperary rents rise more than 10% in a year

According to the new Daft.ie Renal Price Report for Q2, 2024

The average rent in Tipperary have increased by 10.7% since this time last year.

That is according to the latest Daft Rental Price Report for quarter two of 2024.

The average rent currently stands at €1,392, which is up 6.3% on the last quarter.

The report says rents in Tipperary are up 61% compared to pre-pandemic figures.

The average monthly rent price of a one-bed apartment in Tipperary is now €921, up 12% on this time last year.

A two-bed house is €1,076 (up 9.2%) and a three-bed house €1,267 (up 10.7%).A four-bedroom house in Tipperary costs an average of €1,454 a month to rent.

This is an increase of 15.6% from last year.

The only property type to see a decrease in the Premier County was five-bedroom houses.

But, this was a very small decrease of 0.2%, and the average monthly rent stands at €1,507.

Across all property types, it was cheaper to buy than rent when comparing monthly rent to a mortgage.

NATIONAL OUTLOOK

The average rent rose nationally by 7.3% which according to the report, is roughly half the inflation rate in mid-2022.

The national average rent is €1,927, a 2% rise in the last quarter and the 14th consecutive increase.

There was a total of 2,200 rental properties available nationally as of August 1.

That is unchanged compared to last year but remains one of the lowest numbers since 2006.
