Tributes pour in for Tipperary man who will be remembered for his 'great stories'

Tributes have been pouring in for a Tipperary man, who passed away after a long battle with illness.

Percy Truman Wallace of Dungar and formerly of Bawn Couragunneen, Roscrea, passed away on August 31, after a long illness bravely borne on August 31, 2024.

Since the sad news broke out, tributes have been pouring in for Mr Wallace.

"Our deepest condolences to Joan, Elaine, the extended Wallace family, brother Charlie and sister Betty on your sad loss. A true gentleman willing to help anyone in whatever way he could," someone paid in tribute.

"Our deepest sympathies to Joan Elaine and all the Wallace family and to Charlie and Betty on your sad loss. Percy will always be remembered for his hard work. And his great stories And he will be sadly missed Rest in peace Percy," a friend wrote in tribute.

Predeceased by his dear daughters Gillian and Averil and brothers George and Robert. Cherished husband and best friend of Joan & devoted dad to Elaine. Treasured grandfather to Rian, Jack and Megan, brother Charlie, sister Betty (Patterson), his only cousin Frances, son-in-law Colm, sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews, cousins, kind neighbours and great friends.

"Percy's Legacy & Generosity Will Live On In Our Hearts"

His Funeral service will take place at Corbally, Timoney Church this Tuesday, September 3 at 2.30pm. Burial afterwards in the adjoining Graveyard.

The family has asked that donations be made, in lieu of flowers, to the Oncology Unit, Regional Hospital, Tullamore.
