A large number of travelling supporters will make their way across Ireland today to cheer on the Clonmel native who is taking to the big stage tonight in what is her third bout as a professional tonight in Dublin at the 3Arena.
It has been an impressive start to her professional career so far as Shauna O’Keeffe is looking to continue her winning ways after winning her two previous bouts.
"I have no stone left unturned," she said looking ahead to tonand when she takes on Icelandic fighter Valgerdur Gudsteinsdottir (7-5).
"I have done everything to prepare for this," she says as looks ahead to the big bout which is part of the Callum Walsh and Przemyslaw Runowski undercard at the 3Arena.
The 2023 light welterweight National Elite Champion, O’Keefe, made her highly anticipated professional debut in December last year and has made it two wins from two so far against opponents Vaida Masiokaite and Angelika Oleś.
She is currently training full time in the UK and focusing on her craft: "I will be home for a week after my fight, and then I fly to America to spar with Katie Taylor again in late September," Shauna says.
From there it will be back to the UK to get straight back in the gym after sparring with Katie Taylor and she will prepare for the next fight.
Shauna is on the same route as Katie Taylor and pushing hard to achieve her goals: "I was in the ring with Katie as an amateur before and then became a sparring partner with her for her world title fight so it was a dream come true.
"I wrote it on my goal list on my board and it is another thing I have ticked off the list so I am focused and ready for tonight."
The Clonmel boxer is making her first appearance at the 3Arena in the ring but with her confidence and experience she will be ready to perform to the maximum when it matters.
"The last time I was in the 3Arena was when I was ringside watching Katie Taylor beat Chantelle Cameron," the Clonmel native says.
"I'm going to write my own story starting now and it is whatever I do next that matters," says Shauna O’Keeffe who is expected to make her ring walk just before 7pm tonight.
Shauna O’Keeffe takes on Valgerdur Gudsteinsdottir at WALSH vs. RUNOWSKI on Friday, September 20th. Tickets are available via Ticketmaster.ie.
