Celebration as Tipperary school caretaker announces retirement

Staff from three Cashel Primary Schools, St John the Baptist GPS, St John the Baptist BNS and The Deanery School gathered recently to celebrate and honour retiring school caretaker, Mr William Halley.

After years of dedicated service, Willie retired in August and Board of Management members and the three Principals, Mary Andrews, Elma Cooke and Will Ryan paid glowing tributes to Willie whose role went far beyond the tasks of a typical caretaker.

He was a friend to all staff and a helper to the children.

Willie's family were in attendance, as presentations were made and a cake was presented to him.

School secretary, Edilene Rodrigues also leaves St John the Baptist complex to head to Mullingar so tributes were paid to her for all her dedication to the schools.

Both colleagues are wished the best as they embark on new endeavours.
