Irish musician releases song about Tipperary on album

Roscommon musician Cathy Jordan has created an album with 32 songs on it, one for every county in Ireland.

Cathy has collaborated with over 50 musicians and numerous illustrators from all over the country to capture and record some of the many songs from past generations.

She has written a song for every county and Tipperary is represented by the track ‘ Johnny Carey’.

'Johnny Carey' is a comic song about trickery. Trickster Johnny follows Molly for her money but when asked to follow her to the next world, he declines her offer. Recorded in Kerry with Cathy on vocals and bodhran and Donogh Hennessy on guitar.

The 32 songs will be available to purchase as a download or stream and the accompanying illustrations (for each track) will be available free from crankieisland.com and YouTube.
