Tipperary County Council has reported a dramatic drop in the number of private housing tenants in receipt of social housing supports being served with Notices to Quit their homes this year.
Figures the Council’s Housing Section presented to the Special Housing meeting showed that in the first nine months of this year there was an almost two thirds drop in the number of Notices to Quit served on HAP and RAS payment recipients by private landlords getting out of the private rental market compared to the same period last year.
There were 101 Notices to Quit served on HAP and RAS tenants between January and September compared to 292 over the same period in 2023. That is 191 less notices served representing a 65% decrease
