Tipperary jockey Rachael Blackmore is showing her support for Cancer Fund for Children’s inaugural Race Day at Leopardstown Racecourse on Sunday, March 2.
This special event isn’t just about the excitement of top-class horse racing—it’s about coming together to support children across Ireland diagnosed with cancer and their families.
Set against the backdrop of Ireland’s premier racing venue, the Race Day will unite racing enthusiasts, business leaders, and philanthropists for an unforgettable day of sport and giving back.
One of the big highlights of the day is a Q&A session with Rachael.
The Grand National history-maker and Cancer Fund for Children ambassador will share insights on her career, her passion for racing, and why supporting children facing cancer is a cause so close to her heart.
Speaking about the event, Rachael said: “I’m very proud to lend my support to the inaugural race day to raise vital funds for this amazing charity. It’s so important that the great services Cancer Fund for Children provide can be made available to as many families impacted by childhood cancer as possible at a time when they need it most.”
For families like Sharon O’Malley’s, having a role model like Rachael championing this cause means the world: "Having someone like Rachael Blackmore as an ambassador for a children's charity means the world to us. As a mother of a child facing childhood cancer, it’s incredibly comforting to know that such a powerful role model is using her platform to raise awareness and support for children in need. Rachael’s dedication to helping others, combined with her incredible success in the world of sport, gives us hope and inspiration. It shows that no matter where you come from, you can make a real difference. Her involvement brings so much visibility and compassion to causes like ours, and for that, we’re forever grateful."
