Tipperary TD Mattie McGrath made a statement on Wednesday of this week in the Dáil, reacting to the government's response during Storm Éowyn, which visited Ireland last month.
Deputy McGrath explained that he has asked the Taoiseach for hubs to be set up around the country to provide generator power to those affected by future storms.
“I spoke to the Taoiseach regarding hubs being set up, many villages have spaces for this like GAA halls.

"We’re going to have to equip them and give them grants for this, for things like generators, because one central hub could look after the whole parish in regards to showers and washing clothes, practical issues like that."
The government has faced criticism from members of the public after many were left without power, in some cases for weeks, after this most recent storm.
Calls for more plans to be put in place before the next storm lands in Ireland are being made by TD's this week.
Generator hubs in villages could be one solution which would help those left without power after storms like Storm Éowyn.
