Among the headline guests were Rebel Hearts, who took to the stage on the night. Morrissey described herself as “so delighted” that the group performed at the event in Cahir House Hotel.
Their appearance carried particular poignancy. “It especially meant a lot as we know it’s been a very hard few weeks for them with the very sad passing of their brother and bandmate Liam,” she said.
Rebel Hearts, were warmly received by the audience. Morrissey noted that “they are at the top of their game as one of Irelands top rebel bands and the crowd loved them”.
The evening also featured performances from Molly O Connell, Gundy Humphries, Mary Hoey, Sylvia Cregan, Stephen Stokes and Ellie Peters.
Morrissey thanked each of the artists for their contributions, describing their performances in Cahir as “brilliant”. “I’m so proud to call ye my friends. Ye are always there for me and I love ye loads,” she said, encouraging followers to support what she called “our fabulous up and coming artists on the country scene”.
The singer paid tribute to colleagues within the music industry who attended and performed. “I always say my favourite part of being a country music singer is the friends I make along the way,” she remarked.
