Tipperary resident Sean Meehan has had a bench warrant issued for his arrest.
Sean, who hails from New Inn outside Cashel, was not in court in Cashel on Thursday morning for his court hearing in respect of a planning enforcement case which was taken by Tipperary County Council.
In a post on “Save Sean’s Cabin Page” Mr Meehan’s daughter says that their legal representative told Sean not to attend on the day however Judge Brian O’Shea opted to issue a bench warrant for Sean Meehan’s arrest.

Karina Meehan posted: "Although Dad was told yesterday evening he wasn't to attend court this morning by his legal representative we received a phone call just before 11am this morning to say the judge was indeed pressing ahead with the case.
"A bench warrant has now been issued for Dad's arrest! What an absolutely disgusting move this is...I honestly have no words."
Sean Meehan is under threat of a custodial sentence for not taking down the house on his land at Woodinstown near Cahir.
Despite efforts he has not been able to secure retention or full planning permission from Tipperary County Council or An Bord Pleanála.

Sean Meehan previously applied for "permission for retention" for a mobile home (presently cladded in timber as to appear as a log cabin), as well as two outbuildings and the use of same as a domestic storage.
It had been expected that the case would be adjourned until June with the possibility of planning laws changing over the coming months.
