Tipperary County Council has given notice that a section of the M7 Motorway in county Tipperary will be closed for two hours late tomorrow (Friday, March 28) night to facilitate the transport of "an exceptional abnormal load".
The section of the motorway between Junction 24 at Toomevara and Junction 26 at Nenagh westbound will close from 11pm on Friday, March 28 to 1am on Saturday, March 29.
The Council said this "urgent road closure" is being made in response to a request from An Garda Síochána to facilitate the transport of "an exceptional abnormal load".
The following traffic diversions will be in place during the closure:
Traffic on the M7 westbound will be diverted via Junction 24 onto the R445 into Nenagh town, continuing on the R445 and the N52 Limerick Road before re-joining the M7 at Junction 26
Traffic on the R498 Thurles Road wishing to travel westbound on the M7 will be diverted via Junction 25, into Nenagh Town on the R498, continuing onto the R445 and N52 Limerick Road before re-joining the M7 at Junction 26
Emergency Service access will be maintained at all times.
Temporary Traffic Management will be in place to facilitate this event.
