The latest design update for the proposed upgrade of the Cahir to Limerick Junction and Oola section of the N24 went on public display today (Tuesday, May 27) in the Great National Ballykisteen Golf Hotel near Tipperary Town.
Tipperary County Council says it is progressing the development of the N24 Cahir to Limerick Junction & Oola Transport Project in partnership with Limerick City & County Council, Transport Infrastructure Ireland and the Department of Transport.
Arup are the appointed Technical Advisors to advance the project through the planning and design phases. The project is being managed by the Mid West National Road Design Office on behalf of Tipperary County Council. The project is a priority investment in the Government’s National Development Plan 2021-2030.
Since Design Update No. 2 in October 2024, the design team have further progressed the design of the active travel and road components of the Preferred Transport Solution to take account of results from site surveys (including geotechnical investigations, topographical surveys and environmental surveys) and feedback from ongoing landowner engagement.

Design Update No. 3 Drawings for the proposed active travel and road components are now available for viewing on the Project Website www.n24cahirlimerick.ie. These drawings are indicative only and subject to change as part of the ongoing design refinement and environmental evaluation process.
A public display of the latest design update is taking place in the Great National Ballykisteen Golf Hotel today (Tuesday, May 27) from 1pm until 8pm, and tomorrow (Wednesday, May 28) from 10am until 8pm and drawings are available for viewing.
Property owners, communities and other stakeholders are encouraged to consult with the project team by attending the public display.
