Tipperary athletes shine at Moycarkey/Coolcroo cross country with multiple titles

Moycarkey/Coolcroo AC hosted their third cross country fixture at the venue in recent weeks, with firm conditions despite recent rain. In the senior women’s race, Ciara O’Neill of Clonmel AC claimed her second Munster title in 25:43, edging out Dymphna Ryan of Dundrum AC.

Laura Cooney secured fifth and the U23 crown, while Tipperary’s team including O’Neill, Ryan, Cooney, Aisling Ryan, Emma Murray and Suzanne Shine took gold.

Paul Hartnett of East Cork AC dominated the men’s race, winning in 21:50. Cian Hodgins of Nenagh Olympic secured silver and the U23 title, with Tipperary’s team earning silver overall.

In juvenile races, Emma Hickey led Tipperary Girls U9 to bronze, while Conor Fahey took 11th in Boys U9. Poppy Shanahan won an individual medal in Girls U11, helping the county to bronze. Michael Hynes claimed fifth in U13 Boys, contributing to a third-place county finish. Neasa Moloney and Caoimhe Slevin advanced from Girls U15, while Albert Maher and Luke Duggan did the same from Boys U15. Eadaoin Duffy led the Girls U17, and Diarmuid Moloney won U19 gold.

Upcoming events include the County Novice B Cross Country in Ardmayle on November 9, the County Post Primary Schools Cross Country at Thurles Crokes AC on November 13, and the County Board meeting on November 27 to finalise 2026 road race dates.
