The initiatives were formally presented this week by John Carroll, Cathaoirleach of Tipperary County Council.

At the centre of the announcement is a five year strategy prepared by the Tipperary Tourism Board. The roadmap sets out the board’s ambition to establish the county as an immersive destination for both international and domestic visitors.

It also details an action plan that aims to deepen cooperation across the sector and create stronger links between the many visitor experiences found throughout the region.

The publication of the strategy follows a notable endorsement for the county. Lonely Planet recently selected Tipperary for inclusion in its Best in Travel 2026 list, an accolade that has given additional momentum to local tourism efforts.

Speaking at the launch, Cllr Carroll underlined the importance of tourism to the county’s wider economic and social future.

He said the Council acknowledges the contribution that tourism can make to employment, local enterprise and long term sustainability across Tipperary.

Helen King, chairperson of the Tipperary Tourism Company, also addressed the gathering.

She emphasised that enhanced collaboration with businesses and community stakeholders will be central to revitalising the tourism network and ensuring the county is well positioned to meet rising visitor expectations.

A major component of the announcement was the redesign of Tipperary.com, which has been delivered with support from Fáilte Ireland and the European Union through the EU Just Transition Fund.

The updated site is intended to act as a comprehensive online hub, offering visitors easy access to information, guide material and planning tools for trips to the Premier County.

Together, the roadmap and the revamped website signal an effort to organise the county’s tourism assets more cohesively and to present Tipperary in a way that reflects the breadth of experiences available to tourists.
