Cashel’s Brú Ború welcomed the All-Ireland finals of the Pléaracha agus Scoraíocht competitions for Comhaltas members on Sunday, bringing together young and adult traditional music groups from across the country.
The day began at 9.30am with the Scoraíocht finals, featuring groups from Cork, Dublin, Wexford, and Laois.
Sean Treacy CCE from Dublin claimed first place, followed by Gorey/Ballygarrett CCE from Wexford in second and Douglas CCE from Cork in third.

Local musicians from Cashel and Cahir combined forces for the under-18 Pléaracha competition, performing at 2pm. The group secured first place, with Gorey/Ballygarrett CCE from Wexford in second and Moate CCE from Westmeath in third.
Craobh Caiseal Mumhan CCÉ celebrated the victory on social media, noting that the two branches had joined under the tuition of Clare Quinn. “Well done Clare and your team. We are very proud of you all,” the post read.
The over-18 Pléaracha finals followed at 4.20pm, featuring groups from Cork, Wexford, and Dublin. CCE Baile Nuis from Cork took first place, with Gorey/Ballygarrett CCE in second and CCE Lucan/Sli Dhaila from Dublin in third.
Entry to this category required that at least four members of each group be over the age of 18.
Brú Ború also congratulated all participants on Facebook, writing, “Comhghairdeas to all involved in the All-Ireland Comhaltas Pléaracha and Scoraíocht Finals in Brú Ború yesterday.
A great day of entertainment from all involved.” The day showcased the best of Irish traditional music, with local and national talent on display.
