Family, friends and neighbours pay heartfelt tributes to Mary Dagg following her passing

RIP: Tributes paid to late Tipperary woman who was 'a gentle and special lady'

The death has occurred of Mary Dagg (née Corcoran), Pallasbeg, Newtown, Nenagh, and formerly of Summerhill, Nenagh, Co Tipperary.

Mary passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 8, 2026, in the care of the staff of Nenagh Manor Nursing Home, surrounded by her family.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband Seán, her parents Jeremiah and Julia, her brothers Michael, Maurice, Donie, Fr Frank and Willie, and her sisters Ollie, Ena, Joan and Ann.

Mary will be sadly missed by her loving family, her sister Patricia, brothers-in-law Cyril Greally and Frank Flannery, as well as her nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and many friends.

Her Funeral Mass will take place on Wednesday, March 11, at 11.30am in the Church of the Holy Spirit, Youghalarra, Newtown, followed by burial in Youghalarra Cemetery. The Mass will be available to view online, with a link to follow.

Condolences

Messages of sympathy have been shared with Mary’s family following news of her passing.

Among those to offer condolences was Alan Kelly TD, who said: “My sincere condolences to the Dagg and Corcoran families on the sad passing of Mary. May she rest in peace.”

Others also extended their sympathies to the Dagg, Corcoran, Greally and Flannery families, remembering Mary with great fondness.

Several tributes spoke of happy memories spent in the Dagg home in Pallasbeg. One person recalled weekends filled with singing, painting and gardening and described Mary as “a special aunt who loved having her nieces and nephews visit”.

Another shared memories of childhood days spent on Mary and Seán’s farm, remembering how good she always was to her nieces and nephews and recalling a visit she once made to family in California many years ago.

A heartfelt message from a family member described Mary as both a beloved aunt and godmother and spoke of blissful summers in Pallasbeg filled with love and laughter, remembering her as a gentle and special lady who cared deeply for everyone.

Others recalled meeting Mary in Summerhill over the years and described her as always friendly and pleasant.

Many of the messages shared since her passing remember Mary as a kind and gentle person who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

May she rest in peace.
