Plans lodged for 12 new homes in a Tipperary town including works to protected structure

A planning application has been lodged with Tipperary County Council for a new residential development on lands to the rear of Rosendale and 4 Friar Street, and to the northwest of Croke Gardens in Garryvicleheen, Thurles.

The application, submitted by Solaregy Limited on March 23, proposes the construction of 12 residential units, comprising 10 two-bedroom houses and 2 one-bedroom apartments, arranged across two two-storey blocks with pitched roofs.

According to the planning documents Block A would contain 2 one-bedroom apartments and 4 two-bedroom houses, while Block B would include 6 two-bedroom houses.

The planning proposal also involves partial demolition of existing boundary walls, removal of surface car parking, and the creation of a new vehicular and pedestrian entrance onto the adjoining roadway.

Additional works include car and bicycle parking, refuse storage, signage, landscaping, boundary treatments, and all ancillary site development services.

The development would involve works to a Protected Structure, ensuring heritage considerations are addressed.

The application is being handled by Planner Marion Carey, with public submissions accepted until April 26, a decision from the council is expected by May 17.
