Clonmel's Mr. Music Man Danny Carroll is the musical director for the annual Christmas concert at Ss Peter and Paul's Church in Clonmel on Sunday December 11th.
The much-anticipated annual Christmas concert at Ss Peter and Paul’s church, Clonmel will take place on Sunday, 11th December, commencing at 8pm.
The Clonmel Concert Band will be the featured band and will be supported by bass baritone Derek Ryan and The Guadeamus choir. There’s something for everyone in the programme, including all your favourite Christmas carols.
The Clonmel Concert Band's personnel are mostly former Banna Chluain Meala members, with a few additional guest musicians.
The band has grown from strength to strength since its formation in 2011 and this year were category winners at the South of Ireland Band Championships in Clonakilty, where 34 bands attended, with 9 bands in their category.
The band will be conducted by Danny Carroll, who is also the musical director for the concert.
Derek Ryan needs no introduction to Clonmel audiences, where he always enjoys great popularity. Well-known in music circles throughout Ireland, where he performs with many of the musical societies, he is also enjoying great success currently as a member of the popular singing trio The Two and a Half Tenors.
The Guadeamus Choir, which is made up of members from Tipperary musical societies, also performed at last year’s concert and was a great success with their varied repertoire, which they performed so professionally.
This promises to be a great night of top-class music and song and an ideal way to start the festive season.
There will also be some additional soloists, with one surprise guest.
Tickets at €15 each are now available at Marian’s, O’Connell Street, Clonmel and at the Parish Shop.
