Visitors from all over Ireland will flock to Carrick-on-Suir on Saturday, December 16 to watch the town's annual Christmas Tractors Parade that will for the first time include children pedalling their fairy light festooned toy tractors.
The organisers of the Christmas Tractors Parade have selected ten children and their toy tractors to take part in the pagaent.
Last year's parade was watched by an estimated 20,000 people and the pageant previously set a world record for the largest convoy of illuminated vehicles.
Seamus Campbell of Carrick-on-Suir Business Association, which is supporting the Christmas Tractors Parade, said the fourth Christmas Tractors of Carrick-on-Suir event looks set to be the biggest parade yet.
The "Crop Cruisers" led by Tybroughney based farmer Stuart Downie are providing the majority of the tractors and other agricultural vehicles for the parade and joining them will be tractors driven by the Ballymena based "Grassmen"
Children from as far as Roscommon and Youghal will travel to Carrick to take part in the parade on their pedal tractors.
Mr Campbell reported that alot of people planning to attend the event from around the country have booked guest accommodation in Carrick-on-Suir that weekend.
The parade will kick off at 5.30pm and there will be kids amusements at the parade finish at New Street Car Park.
A children's colouring competition is also being run in conjunction with the parade. The winners will travel in Santa's sleigh in the parade.
Donations will be collected at the event for The Brain Tumour Support Group and the Make a Wish Foundation.
