An Orange Weather alert is in place
Motorists have been advised to avoid taking to the roadways in the coming hours unless the trip is absolutely essential.
Heavy snow showers throughout the day have exacerbated conditions within the county, with many roads impassable, and a severe weather alert, Orange Status, has been issued for Tipperary until 9am Saturday (tomorrow).
The severe snow warning is Status Orange from 4pm today.
