Three Carrick-on-Suir based festivals and community events have been approved grants worth nearly €10,000 from Tipperary Co. Council.
Carrick-on-Suir's Clancy Brothers Music & Arts Festival is to receive a €4,700 grant from Tipperary Co. Council's District Festivals and Events Scheme. The Festival takes place over the June Bank Holiday Weekend.
The town's St Patrick's Day Parade was allocated €3000 under the same scheme.
Meanwhile, a €2,500 grant is being allocated towards the cost of events in Carrick-on-Suir and district for the Ireland Newfoundland Gathering Festival in August under the Council's Community Festivals & Events Scheme.
Brewery Lane Writers Weekend in Carrick-on-Suir on April 6 to 8 is to receive a €700 grant under the same scheme.
Elsewhere in the Carrick-on-Suir Municipal District, the Kickham County Weekend that will take place in Mullinahone from May 4 to 6 is getting a €2,500 grant.
Carrick-on-Suir Municipal District's elected members approved the grants at their recent monthly meeting.
