Work on opening Nenagh's tourist office in the former motor tax office on Banba Square is ongoing, local councillors have been told.
In the meantime, for this summer, Nenagh Arts Centre will provide information to visitors on tourist attractions in the area. Cllr Joe Hannigan told Nenagh MDC that the tourist office could make Nenagh the hub for the entire region.
Meanwhile, councillors have been told that Tipperary County Council is awaiting a report from Tipperary Library Services on a request by Cllr Seamus Morris to have the O'Kennedy Treaty housed in Boston brought back to the town for Nenagh's 2020 celebrations.
