A GoFundMe fundraising campaign has been set up to fundraise to help the family of a 21-year-old man killed in a tragic traffic accident at Ballinunty on Saturday, cover the costs of his funeral.

The GoFundMe for the late Gediminas Urbonas from Holycross, county Tipperary has been set up by his older sister Saulena Urbonaite and has, so far, raised €10,163.

Gediminas, also known as Ged, was one of two young men who died tragically in a four-vehicle collision on a local road at Killeen, Ballinunty shortly after 6pm on Saturday.

Eighteen-year-old David Lahart from Castlequarter, Killenaule also died in the horrific crash. Both were occupants of the same vehicle.

In her introduction to the GoFundMe page, Saulena Urbonaite said her family are “extremely heartbroken and are mourning the loss of the most loving soul”.

My brother, may you get the best bed in heaven. We love you so much," she added.

She said the funds raised through the GoFundMe campaign will be used to help cover the costs of her "beautiful" brother's funeral and indicated information about his wake will be announced soon.
