Management of South Tipperary General Hospital are advising that Restricted Visiting has now been lifted at the hospital today (April 16th 2018). However, management would like to remind the public of the following visiting arrangements.
Visiting times are restricted to the following times:
· 2.00pm – 4.00pm
· 6.30pm – 8.30pm
Families are asked not to visit the wards outside visiting time and may be requested to leave by staff or security. Where a patient is very ill, family may request through the Clinical Nurse Manager to have extended visiting rights.
Children - In the interest of patient’s well-being and to prevent / control of infection, we ask that children under 12 years of age are not brought onto the wards, unless arranged in advance with the Ward Manager / Nurse-in-charge.
Visiting any ward outside of these hours is at the discretion of the Ward Manager. Visitors are asked to have consideration for all patients and staff, keeping noise to a minimum so as to contribute to patients’ recovery. The number of visitors should not exceed two per patient at any given time.
Coronary Care Unit (CCU) & Cardiac Stepdown
2.30pm – 4.00pm and 6.00pm – 8.00pm
Patients’ rest period 12.30pm – 2.00pm (Visiting during this time will be restricted)
When visiting CCU, Ward Managers should be asked if visiting is appropriate depending on the patient’s condition - Visiting for immediate family only.
Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
Visiting times are 2-4pm and 6-8pm. Visiting outside of these hours must be negotiated/discussed with the nurse in charge. Due to the nature of ICU visitors may be asked to wait whilst essential care is delivered to patients, this may be during visiting times. A Visitors Room is situated at the entrance to ICU, this is a shared room for all patient visitors.
When visiting ICU, Ward Managers should be asked if visiting is appropriate depending on the patient’s condition - Visiting for immediate family only.
