Gas Networks Ireland says it hopes to have approximately 100 properties in the Auburn Park area of Clonmel reconnected by this evening, Tuesday, after the gas supply was interrupted earlier today
Approximately 100 properties in the Auburn Park estate in Clonmel lost their natural gas supply today, Tuesday, following what Gas Networks Ireland (GNI) described as "a report of third party damage to a gas main".
The report was received at 9.21am this morning.
GNI says that the pipeline is currently under repair and it is expected that supply will be restored to the affected properties later this evening.
"In order to restore natural gas flow, GNI crew will require access to the affected properties.
"This process will begin at approximately 3pm today and we thank homeowners for their patience and co-operation as our crew members call door-to-door.
"GNI wishes to assure natural gas customers in the area that we are doing everything we can to restore supplies as quickly as possible.
“We apologise for the inconvenience caused", a statement added.
