On Monday, Roscrea's new purpose-built disabled swing was opened, following about two years of fundraising.
Special thanks to Wally Kirwan, who went to Councillor Michael Smith for help in obtaining the remainder of funds needed.
Wally owes a massive thanks to Cllr Smith for everything, along with Tipperary County Council. On Monday, Wally thanked everyone who helped in any way, especially Marie O'Connor, who raised money for the swing while fundraising for mental health. Marie was also there to cut the ribbon and officially open the swing.
Thanks to Damien Carroll who ran 80 kilometres, an unbelievable achievement, Wally himself, Gavin Lynch, David Lynch, Andrew Cussen and Darragh Wright who also participated on the day. Tributes also to the Pony Club committee and the Semi Colon Committee for their donations, Biddy's bar and John Brophy for the quiz night, and all the businesses and people of Roscrea, from the very first donation from Andrew Walsh buses.
Also a special thanks to Fr. Treacy who arrived to bless the swing.
