Casey defeated Gemma Doherty by 13 votes to 8.
Tipperary County Council has given businessman Peter Casey the final fourth nomination he requires to conyest the Presidential election.
The vote taken this afternoon saw him defeat journalist Gemma O Doherty by 13 votes to 8 after all the candidates present had addressed the meeting.
However, there were 18 members absent and Cll Fiona Bonfield abstained.
