Knockavilla Donaskeigh Community Councils

Our 'share the spoils' winner last week was Teresa Taylor, Station road, Dundrum, winning €345. This week`s draw takes place in Berties bar. Envelopes for €2 are available in all businesses in Dundrum, and in John Duggan's butchers Tipperary town shopping centre. The option of multi buys can also be arranged. To avail of this please contact Kieran Slattery or Patrick O'Carroll to organise.

Over the last 12 weeks share the spoils has generated over €4,000 in prize money to 12 lucky people. The support which this fundraiser has received from the public has been phenomenal and greatly appreciated by both community councils .

As result of this fundraiser, work on repairing the roof in Donaskeigh hall has taken place. So too, internal improvements have commenced with painting and floor repairs on the work schedule.

These works will ensure that the hall is in pristine condition for the school concert to be held in December. Funds also go towards the heating, electric and insurance costs to ensure the hall is available to anybody wishing to use the premises. The hall is a vital aid for Donaskeigh school also, as the pupils use the facility for various events. Knockavilla Hall recently had the exterior painted by the workers on the local works scheme. Inside the hall, renovation works are ongoing to improve the kitchen facilities and bring them up to a high standard. Floor and walls will be tiled, exterior walls are insulated, a brand new stainless steel kitchen will be installed. All these works will continue to improve the facilities and make them available to everyone for various functions. We got rid of the old chairs, and have already taken delivery of 40 new banquet chairs with another 100 on order. Our share the spoils fundraiser is an invaluable source of income for both community halls, and both sides of the parish benefit. We are most grateful to all the businesses for carrying our envelopes and helping promote our draws.
