The heroin gardai seized in the Carrick-on-Suir area last Friday night.
A man aged in his late 40s arrested in connection with the seizure of €90,000 worth of heroin in the Carrick-on-Suir area on Friday night continues to be detained in garda custody today (Monday).
The man who is from the Carrick-on-Suir area is being detained at Thomastown Garda Station in Co. Kilkenny under the 1996 Drugs Trafficking Act.
He was arrested when his vehicle was stopped exiting the M9 at Knocktopher in Co. Kilkenny last Friday night, October 7. Subsequent searches were carried out in the Carrick on Suir area during which €90,000 worth of heroin was seized.
Gardai also seized cannabis estimated to be worth between €600 and €700 during a follow-up search on a house in the Carrick-on-Suir area on Friday night/Saturday morning.
