Tipperary IFA to host cattle crisis meeting in Nenagh

A cattle crisis Information meeting will take place on Monday, October 15, in the Abbey Court Hotel, Nenagh, at 8pm.

The meeting will provide knowledge on how the Department of Agriculture proposes to implement new legislation, REGULATION (EU) No 1308/2013 of the EU Council and Parliament of 17 December 2013, and as specified in particular in articles 153 and 170.

This legislation was initiated from the EU to address the imbalance that has evolved in the sale and marketing of cattle.

The panel will include Damian McDonald, IFA director general; Valeria Woods, head of beef producer organisation, Department of Agriculture; Áine Macken-Walsh, sociologist| REDP, Teagasc; Ray Doyle, livestock director, ICOS; Tim Cullinan, IFA national treasurer; Justin McCarthy, editor Farmers Journal.

Following their presentations, the meeting will be open to questions and answers.
