An invitation has been extended by the Syrian community in Thurles
The Syrian community in Thurles will host a night of Community, Culture and Fun at The Source, Thurles, on the 25th October.
In March 2015, a total of 12 Syrian families came to live in Thurles under a Refugee Resettlement Programme following an invitation by the Irish Government.
More than three years later, the families have established themselves in Thurles, supporting children in school, undertaking training and education programmes and adapting to an entirely new cultural environment.
During this time, agencies including Tipperary ETB and Youth Work Ireland Tipperary (formerly TRYS), have worked hard to support the families in settling in and integrating to their new life.
Now, Tipperary ETB and YWI Tipperary are collaborating with the families to host a night of Community, Culture and Fun at The Source, Thurles, on the 25th October.
The Syrian families particularly want to extend an invitation to the Irish community to come along and to enjoy Syrian food, take part in some singing and maybe even, a few games.
The night will run from 6pm to 7.30pm.
All are welcome.
