South Tipperary General Hospital this morning (Thursday 18th October) has  forty two people on trolleys waiting for a bed in the hospital.

Only Limerick University Hospital, with 63 on trolleys, has a higher number of people on trolleys than Clonmel. The next worst hit hospital  is Galway University Hospital with 29.

Of the forty two people on trolleys in Clonmel 24 are on trolleys in the Emergency department and 18 are on wards elsewhere in the hospital.

In the country a total of 424 admitted patients are waiting for beds this Thursday morning according to today’s INMO Trolley Watch.

Every morning at 8am, INMO members count how many patients are waiting in the Emergency Department for a bed and how many are waiting in wards elsewhere in the hospital.
The INMO Trolley Watch counts the number of patients who have been admitted to acute hospitals, but who are waiting for a free bed. These patients are often being treated on trolleys in corridors, but they may also be on chairs, in waiting rooms, or simply wherever there’s space. The INMO started Trolley Watch in 2004.
