It’s hoped that there will be further movement next month on Remcoll’s planning application for Market Place in Clonmel, District Administrator Jim Dillon has stated.
In his report to a meeting of Clonmel Borough District, Mr Dillon said that Remcoll, which most of the units there, had submitted revised indicative drawings for the development of the retail area.

These were currently being examined by the planning section of Tipperary County Council, he added.

Most of the shop units at Market Place are unoccupied, following several shop closures and relocations in recent years.

Eighteen buildings in the area were sold at a distressed property auction nine years ago for €920,000.
